Up for bid is precolumbian Mayan Imperial Jade Amulet piece from the Classic Era. Jade was the most valuable thing to the Maya as it represented life and to an extent the essence of god. This piece of jade is of gem quality and is considered " Imperial Jade " because of it was the most coveted color of jade for the Maya ( Nobles ). Also known as apple jade; ( Mayan ) Imperial Jade has the jade apple color and the fine traces of teal. This is my most prized piece as it was worn by either the most wealthiest of the nobles or belonged to part of the esemble of a Mayan King. Jade was regarded to the Mayan and Aztecs as a sign of prestige. Moctezuma II ( King of the Aztecs ) said that the Spanish lust for gold was so great, that they dare not present them with jade ( which the Aztecs had an equal regard for like the Spanish did for gold ). Here is your chance to get an important piece of Mayan antiquity and is excellent for the serious collector ready for display or wear and makes an excellent conversation piece. Thanks for looking. Serious bidders only. Winner must pay within 2 days of auction ending. PayPal only. Comes with Delivery Confirmation.
