Pre-steam iron -- water sprinkler for ironing clothes

How cute is this! A ceramic water sprinkler!

This ironing day supplement was filled with water, and shaken over wrinkled clothing to create steam when the hot iron passed over it.

The bottom shows wear from use, but the ceramic is intact all over. The metal top is covered in tiny holes, and its rubber plunger, is intact and removable (as seen in the photo). The metal top looks worn.

I remember my grandmothers using similar water sprinklers, back in the day when the irons were a lot heavier than today's products.

7.25 inches high by 3.25 inches wide by 3.25 inches deep.
