For auction is a set of 6 rare Sunderlin & Weaver(the trade mark Suderlin & Weaver only existed in the year 1864) Silver tea spoons. The spoons are 144 years old. The pattern is called Grecian. This pattern was latter made by Tiffany in 1880 and by Gorham in 1882. If you have a Gorham spoon like this the antique value is $139.95 each, I found this value at in 2007. Because of the rarity I do not know the antique value of these spoons. The spoons were made in Rochester, New York. On the back of the spoons t is an assayers mark and the Silver content - 862/1000(the United States started makeing 925/1000 in 1865), after that is the makers name Sunderlin & Weaver. Also on the spoons you'll see a #1, this indicates that the spoons were made for household use, spoons for hotels and trains have a different number. The weight is 4.6 ounces or 4.2 troy ounces. The condition is usable but after 144 years they do show wear(see pictures). In the bottom of the bowls t are some minor dings that look they were made from use. Some time in their past they may have had a monogram removed. The scrap value of these spoons is $17.70 per ounce x 4.2 troy ounces x 862/100 = $64.08. T is a reserve equal to the scrap value. Shipping includes carefully wrapping with bubble wrap, Priority Mail, tracking and insurance. Shipping is free.
