Extraordinarily Rare! So few copies were published and those who have been fortunate enough to acquire one just never let it go! For all who cherish the centuries-old heritage that has been renewed in every age, namely, DOMINICAN SPIRITUALITY, is the Breviary you've probably often heard of but never been able to find! THE SHORT DOMINICAN BREVIARY BEING THE OFFICES OF LAUDS, VESPERS and COMPLINE faithfully excerpted from the full Dominican Rite Breviary as this was arranged before the new Vatican II Office clothbound, about 5" x 7", 960 pages, 3 ribbon markers although the text is clean, the breviary odor-free, and the internal binding substantially tight and problem-free, the scans show clearly the incipient separation (the cover in NOT detached) occuring between the fly-leaf and main text, and page 31 (an excerpt from Compline) is PRESENT but detached. DESCLEE PARIS - TOURNAI 1967 Although Vatican II had ended a little less than two years before, no changes had yet been made to the Office and no mitigation of the ancient Dominican Rite had taken place.
