This is a hard to find US Navy Chief Petty Officers uniform jacket and hat. All items are in great condition. This uniform belonged to a Chief Petty Officer Torpedo-man with 16 years of service stripes, and Submarine Dolphin insignia on the lower right sleeve. Ribbons denote Asiatic Pacific Campaign WWII with one bronze star, American Campaign WWII, and American Defense Service.Jacket mesures 20" armpit to armpit with a 24" sleeve shoulder to cuff. So probably size 40. The hat is a 6 7/8. This jacket is in great condition. No holes or tears. Some of the stitching on the inside seams are loose with age. Black silk lining is in great shape. Interestingly the label in this jacket says it was made by Naval Taylor William McGee Chefoo China.The hat has a small black spot near the insignia and a couple of spots on the top, please see pictures. This hat is in very good condition, no rips, tears, or loose stitching. The brim is nice, the chin strap is present with both buttons. The Clasp on the USN insignia is a pin and clasp style indicative of early WWII.In WWII - A cap and dress jacket, similar in appearance to the officer's uniform, but worn by enlisted personnel who achieved the minimum rank of Chief Petty Officer.
