ORIGINAL PRE WW2 NAVY #'ED YANGTZE SERVICE MEDAL - ID'D. Bought from local veterans estate. Nice medal from veteran that had an amazing career. Served from 1928 to 1958, from S2c to BMC. He qualified as a diver 2nd class in 1933, went to Naval torpedo school, Newport R.I. Served on the following vessels: WWII and prior - USS Nitro, Henderson, Hart, Luzon, Barker, Chaumont, Dobbin, Bernadou, Sagamore, Dickerson, Leary, Tattnail, Dunlap, Decatur, Gannet, Curtiss, Kaloli, SC734, Prince William, YMS B93, Guam - post WWII: USS Toledo, Mount Katmai, Bayfield, LST 1122, Gen.H.W. Buther, Marias. Was a Pearl Harbor survivor being on the USS Curtiss on Dec7. USN Yangtze Service, rim marked M.No.13152 - wrap brooch, excellent condition. Name will be given to winner and an original photo if requested. Copy of back of discharge verifying award of the Yangtze medal can also be furnished upon request. This was one of 2 Yangtze medals in the veterans possession.
