You are bidding on a Precious Moments figurine called "Bike Rack" from the Sugar Town Series. The Item No. is 272906. This figurine depicts a pipe bike stand holding a student's bike. The Production Symbol is the Sword, which is the symbol as quoted from Hebrews 4:12: For the Word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two edged sword . This was the only symbol produced. The size of this piece is 2.0". The secondary market value is $25. This piece was produced in 1997 and retired in 1997. It is made from porcelain bisque. THIS PIECE IS BRAND NEW, NEVER USED, STORED IN ITS BOX SINCE PURCHASE. It has only been removed for inspection when purchased and again for picture-taking. The figurine is in "MINT" condition. There are no chips, crazing, repairs, fading of colors (if any), or obvious flaws. The Precious Moments logo, name, symbol and item number are embedded into the mold on the bottom of the figurine which guarantees authenticity (see Photograph #3 above). It is securely wrapped in bubble wrap and placed inside its original box. The original box shows signs of storage and/or age (see Photograph #2 above). HISTORY OF PRECIOUS MOMENTS As written in The 1999 Thirteenth Edition Genuine & Original Greenbook Guide to Precious Moments by Enesco : "Sam Butcher, the artist and creator of Precious Moments, first began his career as a 'chalk board minister,' using illustrations to teach young children about God." "In 1974, Sam partnered with a friend, William Biel, to start the 'Jonathan & David' inspirational greeting card business that featured the teardrop-eyed children he had been drawing for family and friends. He called them 'Precious Moments' because they spread love, caring and sharing in everyday situations. The Card Company was the first step toward success for the artist and his Precious Moments illustrations." "It was in 1978 that Enesco Corporation President Eugene Freedman first saw Sam's simple drawings on a small line of greeting cards and posters....When Gene called Sam and Bill, they were initially reluctant to talk to him, as they were hoping to have the artwork made into porcelain themselves...." "Mr. Freedman took the artwork to Japan to his friend, Master Sculptor Yasuhei Fujioka, and with his creative genius, Fujioka-san transformed the illustrations into figurines...."
