All four pieces from The Four Seasons Series I have available for sale in my store, Favorite Thingz. As written on the back of the Precious Moments box: "While watching his wife, Katie, standing on a hill with her hair softly blowing in the wind, artist Sam Butcher was inspired to create the Precious Moments 'Four Seasons Series.'" "Long, flowing hair and sweeping skirts made the series unique. These collectibles are to be cherished for their fine craftsmanship and charm.""The series is limited to the number of pieces that can be produced in one year. 'The Voice of Spring' and 'Summer's Joy' will be available in January 1985, and crafting will end December 31, 1985. 'Autumn's Praise' and "Winter's Song' will be available in January 1986, and will not be produced after December 31, 1986." TH IS ITEM HAS BEEN DISPLAYED IN A SMOKE-FREE, OUT OF DIRECT SUNLIGHT ENVIRONMENT. The figurine is in "MINT" condition. There are no chips, crazing, repairs, fading of colors (if any), or obvious flaws. The Precious Moments logo, name, symbol and item number are embedded into the mold on the bottom of the figurine which guarantees authenticity (see Photograph #3 below). It is securely wrapped in bubble wrap and placed inside its original box. The original box shows signs of storage and/or age (see Photographs #4 -#6 below). Please review all photographs to make your own assessment of the condition of this item seeing as this is a NO RETURN "AS IS" purchase. This comes from a smoke-free environment. HISTORY OF PRECIOUS MOMENTS As written in The 1999 Thirteenth Edition Genuine & Original Greenbook Guide to Precious Moments by Enesco : "Sam Butcher, the artist and creator of Precious Moments, first began his career as a 'chalk board minister,' using illustrations to teach young children about God." "In 1974, Sam partnered with a friend, William Biel, to start the 'Jonathan & David' inspirational greeting card business that featured the teardrop-eyed children he had been drawing for family and friends. He called them 'Precious Moments' because they spread love, caring and sharing in everyday situations. The Card Company was the first step toward success for the artist and his Precious Moments illustrations." "It was in 1978 that Enesco Corporation President Eugene Freedman first saw Sam's simple drawings on a small line of greeting cards and posters....When Gene called Sam and Bill, they were initially reluctant to talk to him, as they were hoping to have the artwork made into porcelain themselves...." "Mr. Freedman took the artwork to Japan to his friend, Master Sculptor Yasuhei Fujioka, and with his creative genius, Fujioka-san transformed the illustrations into figurines...." "In the fall of 1978, the first 21 porcelain bisque figurines, each one handcrafted and individually painted, were introduced on the market....The Precious Moments Collection by Enesco is now the number one collectible in the country and numbers more than 1,500 subjects for every occasion and every sentiment." "....The drawings are sent to the Precious Moments Design Studio in Nagoya, Japan, where a team of highly skilled artisans translates the art into a finely sculptured clay model." "It requires five to seven days to produce a single Precious Moments figurine. Each artisan is extensively trained from the sculptor to the painter, who takes three years to master the famous teardrop eyes--considered to be the most important and most difficult element of the figurine. It's this attention to detail and quality that has kept the Precious Moments Collection so highly valued by collectors and so true to Sam's original artwork."
