"PREMO" 2 LB, 7 OZ, FACED HUNK RED TIGEREYE & HEMATITE HERE IS A REALLY HUGE "PREMO" FACED OFF PIECE OF "RED" TIGEREYE & HEMATITE TOTALING 2 POUND, 7.5 OUNCES FROM AFRICA!! THIS IS PREMIUM MATERIAL THAT IS SUPER BRIGHT AND CHATOYANT AND WILL TAKE A GREAT POLISH! I had a chance a while back to pick up some really premo hunks of tigereye with bands of hematite running through it. This is some of the brightest chatoyant tigereye I have seen in a long time. It is dense and solid and will take a super polish. You won't often find large thick hunks this nice. I have slabbed a lot of it and worked up a representative sample and it really works up nice. I am listing a huge faced off on one side piece (to show the interior) that I have sliced of this tigereye that totals 2 pound, 7.5 ounces for this auction. The size of the faced off piece is approximately 3.5"x2" across the cut face and its depth from its cut face is approximately 4" wide. So you should be able to get a lot of really nice slabs from it and then get a pot full of cabs out of the slabs. The material is pretty solid with only some minor stress fractures to work around. It is very chatoyant and a bright reddish brown color. It is highly chatoyant and with many pleasing bands of hematite running through it.
