Presentation Ewer to Dr. Sayre, 23` x 9`, Silver Plated, Ornate design with draping grape leaves and winged angel at base of handle. ` Presented to Dr. Sayre by a few personal friends of the Rev. Sam D. Burband D.D. as a testimonial of their grateful affirmation of the surgical skill displayed by him...` Dr. Sayre is attributed with the first successful hip surgery, and the development of the Plaster of Paris bandage as well as significant research in Tuberculosis and other diseases. In 1877 he was appointed by the American Medical Association as Delegate to the British Medical Association where he was received with flattering acknowledgments his accomplishments. He was decorated by Charles IV of Sweden with the order of WASA and was elected an honorary member of the Medical Society of Norway. Est. $500 - $1500
