This is an official document for a ratification of a treaty between the United States and the Swiss Convention, concluded at Berne, on the 25th of November, 1850; signed in 1853 by President Franklin Pierce. Aside from a slight smudging done at the time of the signing, the signature of President Pierce is clear and bold. The accompanying picture of Pierce was painted by Ada Tenney, who painted his campaign portrait in 1852 and both now hang in the State Capitol in Concord, New Hampshire. The picture and the document are mounted on archival backing and the glass and matte are archival materials. Information on the mounter is on the back. Check out my other items !
