President James Madison portrait and his quote "It will be of little avail to the people, that the laws are made by men of their choice, if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incont that they cannot be understood." Portrait is taken from an original 1860's hand colored engraving in our archives. Handsomely framed in a walnut finish moulding. Please note the frame pictured is no longer available . Overall size 15 1/2" X 12 1/2". Please note for protection and safety this piece has been framed with Plexiglass. Plexiglass contains ultra violet inhibitors which aide in the protection of the image. If you prefer glass, please advise and we will change it.
