JFK Signature, Hand Signed
This is a November 1962 pencil sketch of President John F. Kennedy by Newswire artist John M. Morris, signed in pen by the president. The sketch has been framed since I acquired this drawing of JFK and one other of President Dwight Eisenhower, from Morrisâe(tm)s son in 1989.
Also included with this JFK signed pencil sketch is a photograph of the artist, John M. Morris with President Kennedy at the White House Annual Press Day in November 1962. That photo shows the president with another sketch under his arm while shaking hands with Teamsters President Jimmy Hoffaâe"another rarity as witnessed by that photograph (I have never seen President Kennedy and Hoffa in any photo search, and while this photo shows Artist Morris with the President holding a sketchâe"Hoffa makes this photo also significant when researching the authenticity of this item. Records at the JFK Library & National Archives from White House schedules to Secret Service logs during the Kennedy Administration have no entries of the Hoffa/Kennedy encounter, yet my photograph shows otherwise)
Morris was a DC based sketch artist employed by several wire services through their Washington DC bureaus during the Truman, Eisenhower (see attached photo #6), Kennedy and Johnson Administrations.
