PRESIDENTIAL LAND GRANT AND OFFICERS COMMISSION The land grant, dated December 2, 1839, shows multiple signatures reading Martin Van Buren in the signature spot lower right (possibly one a Presidential signature), for 80 acres near Edwardsville, Illinois. The other an officer`s commission for CAPTAIN, in the 24th Regiment of the Kentucky Militia, signed by Governor James Garrard, mounted with a scrimshaw decorated powder horn dated `June 10, 1813`, length 10 1/2 inches; both with appropriate Seals affixed.
