On offer is a vintage postcard sized photograph depicting the 5 masted windjammer Preussen which was built in 1902 by John C. Tecklenborg of Geestemunde for F. Laeisz of Hamburg for his Flying P Line. It was used in the nitrate trade to South America. On 6th November 1910 the cross channel ferry Brighton tried to cut across its bows and collided with the Preussen causing severe damage. Unable to steer the Preussen was driven on to rocks near Dover and sank. The Master of the Brighton was dismissed. The photograph by Spindrift Photos comes from the personal collection of John Anderson, the renowned writer on the last of the sailing ships. The photograph is in good condition. These sailing ship postcards and photos are becoming much harder to find nowadays and this will enhance any collection. The Cardz2u script obviously will not be on your card. Will send upto six postcards for same postage .
