Hello and welcome........this auction is for a very sweet primitive Holiday star doorgreeter which has been made out of a piece of old vintage quilt. This doorgreeter would look nice hanging on a cupboard door, door knob or on the bedpost of an old bed. I made a star out of a piece of a blue and white vintage quilt. The star measures about 11-1/2" across and has been stuffed very firmly. I have attached...sewn in the seam on two points of the star......a piece of grungied grosgrain ribbon as a hanger. I then created a pocket on the front of the star out of an old linen napkin which has a blue stitched edge. The pocket is hand stitched to the star. I have embroidered the word "Wishes" on the front of the pocket with cranberry colored floss. When all of the sewing on the star was completed, I sponged it with my coffee/vanilla mixture and rubbed it lightly with ground cinnamon and cloves. It has dried to a perfectly prim appearance. I have tucked inside of the pocket, sprigs of Sweet Annie and faux cranberry colored berries. T is an old vintage advertising card tucked inside of the pocket also. It has a sweet picture of a little girl holding a basket and the words "May You Spend a Happy Christmas" are printed on the card. Please email me with any questions.
