You are bidding on a primitive hand made horse hitch single tree. A single tree was used when hitching up one horse. The ends of it were fastened to the tugs that went to the horse and the center ring was fastened to whatever was being pulled. (A double tree was used for 2 horses.) The wooden part of the single tree was hand made using a draw knife. The metal parts were hand forged by a blacksmith. The single tree is still in pretty good condition for an old farm tool with no missing or broken parts. T are some surface imperfections from age and use. You are able to find quite a few single trees at farm auctions, however, very few of them have hand forged metal parts like this one has. So if you are looking for a primitive to decorate with, this would certainly fit that description. Also check out the primitive horse hames that I currently have listed. I try to offer accurate descriptions, fast shipping, and careful packaging to help you bid with confidence. So, e-mail with questions about anything that I might have missed. If you purchase these items and they are not as described, please contact me. Thanks for looking. International bidders should e-mail for shipping costs.
