Purchased from a Maine estate sale is this old redware crock that has a yellow slip glazed 39 on the front. This measures 8 3/4 inches tall and is 4 3/4 inches in diameter at the top. The bttom front has a small hole that was part of the manufacturing of the piece. It probably had a cork because I believe it is too small for any kind of a spout. The crock has 3 dings and alot of glaze flecking, especially around the rim and base but no cracks or chips. This is a nice old primitive piece that would be worth the restoration or display as is with your collection. I have several old pieces listed for auction this week that came out of the same estate.
