~ Primitive Folk Art Door Hanger ~ Up for auction is an adorably prim and ugly :o) folk art doll, Josephine and her cat, Jessie, door hanger. They are both made from stained muslin and are painted, baked and sanded to prim perfection. They are made from a pattern by The Dirty Crow Inn. I gave Josephine a Christmas colored (red/green/gold) homespun dress and matching bows in her raw sheep's wool hair. Her face is handsculpted and handpainted. Jessie's face is also handpainted and he has thread whiskers. I gave him a primitive scarf that matches Josephine's dress. I attached them both to a couple of large primitive red pip berry sticks with rusty wire. T's also several large rusty jingle bells attached to the berries. This piece comes ready to hang on the front door during the holiday season (not weather protected so should be behind a glass storm door for protection) or for hanging on a prim wall or peg. Josephine measures approx. 6" H and Jessie measures approx. 4"x4". The entire door hanger measures approx. 17" H.
