Halloween Parade" Is what I call this darling rug.....so hard to part with this one! A little girl dressed up as a witch for Halloween, green face and all! Pulling her little red wagon with her kitty in it, and a second wagon with a crow riding in it! She's even carrying her little bag for her treats. You can still get this rug just in time for Halloween.... I have hooked this rug in very primitive colors that look old and worn, with wide cuts of wool, and in a scrappy kind of style, which is what gives it an early look. The little witch's dress is a combination of several dark and antique black wools all hooked in together. The kitty is a wonderful as-is brown textured wool which gives him a nice primitive look. The red wagon is several "scraps" of red as-is wools, as well as some of my hand dyed Saltbox Red wool (dye formula is in my dye book, "Recipes From the Kitchen of The Red Saltbox", which can be purchased in my ebay store). The crow's wagon is a nice overdyed robins egg blue, which is also a formula in my dye book. Both wagons have old mis-matched old buttons sewn on for the wheels and the crow has an old button sewn on for an eye. The background is several grungy, tea-stained looking tans and beiges, all hooked in randomly together for a nice aged look. Hit-or-miss tongues hooked in wonderful primitive shades of color read more
