I am pleased to offer this one of a kind find and absolute collector's piece. I am not sure w to begin describing this marvelous collection. This was found at an estate sale in Lancaster, PA and is believed to be from Germany. It is dated 1910 on the bottom of the ark. It was housed in one family for over a century so, it has great history and was certainly cared for and loved. The size of the ark is what caught my eye right away. I have never seen anything like it making it extremely rare. Made from solid wood, the deep brown ark has a small barn red house that sits on top and a ladder that rests along the side. The house can be removed to access the storage area of the ship w all sixteen animals can be stored. The ark has great texture , house has brown roof and side door. The ark comes with sixteen animals...the collection inclues, brown horses, spotted pigs, gray elephants, brown spotted cows, goats, tall giraffes, colorful roosters, and two dogs. In charge of the crowd is a bearded Noah and his wife. Each animal has great character, some seem to smile, while others have bright round eyes. Each carved from wood and hand-painted. Largest stands seven inches tall (giraffe) and smallest is 3 inches tall (pigs). House measures six inches tall, ark measures a generous 24 inches long, 14 inches wide and 16 inches tall. I cannot say enough about this piece. I don't think t will be another. Would be great displayed on a large dining table, hutch, antique trunk or just about anyw else. Will be packed well so it arrives in it's new home safely for you to enjoy for many years to come. Please feel free to email me with any questions or for additional pictures. Thanks for looking!
