Santa's Helper
and His Hobby Horse
Although it may appear that this cute little elf
is goofing off in the eleventh hour,
in fact, he is conducting some last minute
quality control tests.
He has assured Santa that this Hobby Horse
is ready for delivery.

This Christmas pair is made from muslin
using my original patterns,
then I painted and antiqued them for a well worn look.

The elf's head, arms and legs are sewn separately.
His limbs are wired for posing.
His face is embroidered and he has the cutest little pointed ears.
His auburn hair is wool roving.
I painted his pants green and
his shirt is a candy cane stripe
which is trimmed with faux fur at the neck and cuffs.
His red wool hat is trimmed with the same fur
and has a little jingle bell at the tip
which matches his boots.
I added several bells to his black leather belt
so Santa could keep track of him.
He stands about 11" tall.

The horse's legs and ears are sewn separately.
His mane and tail are twine.
His rein is a piece of leather.
I mounted him on wheels
to give him the look of a vintage toy.
Although the wheels do turn on an axle,
he does not roll like a genuine pull toy.
He is 10" tall to the top of his head
and he is 9" long.
