EXTREME PRIMITIVE CHRISTMAS STAR WITH QUILT POCKET AND RAG CANDY CANES
Hi!! Welcome to my auction, thank you so much for taking the time to look. This auction is for a very prim and grungy Christmas star with quilt pocket. This great pattern comes from The Old Glory Company. The back of the tag is signed and dated by me. I just love how this piece turned out, very prim and grungy!! This very large star, 22 inches tall and 16 inches wide, is made from muslin which I painted, stained, baked and sanded to give it a very old and grungy appearance. I added a pocket which I cut from an old cutter quilt and handstitched it on with black floss. It is well stained and grunged also. I filled the pocket with sweet annie, ivory and burgundy pip berries and three of those wonderful grungy rag candy canes!! I just love the rag candy canes!! To one candy cane I tied strips of muslin, one stained and one painted, and attached a rusty bell with a rusty safety pin. The candy canes are grungier than the picture shows, due to the close up with the flash and all the glitter on them they appear lighter. Also attached to the candy cane is a grungy tag that reads "OLDE TYME CHRISTMAS 1789". I added lots of rusty bells which I attached with rusty safety pins and at each bell I added bits of spaghnum moss. For the final touch I added lots of diamond dust glass glitter and German glass glitter
