Welcome to Ragpatch Primitives Esmerelda Esmerelda, indeed, was very happy for a witch. She had just accidently, on purpose, dropped a variety of candy, mostly chocolate kisses, on the schoolyard below, just as a tease so all the young ones will be looking for more candy and goodies for Hallow Eve arriving soon. Goodness gracious, said Mr. Crow, you almost lost your hat looking down on the school yard, Yes I know shouted, Witch Esmerelda, I get so excited when the children are scurrying around looking for "goodies". It's my favorite time of year Mr. Crow. Look at how many children are in the schoolyard - fly lower Mr. Crow so we can get a good look. As Mr. Crow flew lower, they could see the whole schoolyard filling up with more and more children as the word got around of free candy. Look, Esmerelda shouted out again, I can see someone pointing and looking up and someone has a camera. Quick Mr. Crow, fly away behind those trees and off they went not to be seen anymore. Esmerelda is approximately 20" tall from the tip of her hat down to the tip of her boot - the total height with crow is 29". She is made of aged muslin and has a full round head with attached eyelids and painted eyes. Her nose is sculpted and her mouth was stitched with black floss. I then shaded her face and blushed her cheeks to bring out her personality. Esmerelda has sewn-on sheeps wool for hair. Her arms and legs have been wired for posability. Esmerelda's dress is orange polka dot with an antique button on the bodice. Her shawl is made from colorwashed cheesecloth. Her loons are black ticking and her green stockings have been painted on. Her boots were made separately and attached, trimmed with wired chenille and a rusty bell. Her hat has been adorned with feathers and drieds. Esmerelda is holding a banner made from stiffened wool felt. I embroidered "Hallows Eve" with black floss on muslin and then sewed it onto the banner. The banner was then attached to rusty wire and wrapped around her wrist. Mr. Crow was made using a Soft in the Head pattern with a Ragpatch twist. He is 12" wide and is made from painted and aged muslin. His nose is sculpted, as well as his separately attached wings. Esmerelda is not permanently attached and both items may be used separately. The reins are rusty wire with rusty bells. I attached Mr. Crow to an antique beehive bobbin. The bobbin was then screwed onto a wooden base for stability. The base was painted black and aged. I then attached an old-timey looking Halloween tag to the aged cheesecloth on the bobbin. The crow has mini rusty bells for eyes. Esmerelda and Mr. Crow will come to your home signed and dated from Ragpatch Primitives and is OOAK. They will make a wonderful addition for a Halloween collector.
