Offered for auction is a primitive leather crafting Stitching Horse with wonderful worn green paint. This outstanding horse's finish has been thankfully left alone and it is an excellent primitive example of an early leather crafters stitching horse. The horse is well built and sturdy. The wooden seat is very comfortable and it has large pegs w the legs are attached. The neck is attached by two large wooden pins, see photos. One side of the neck has a metal hinge for opening and closing the jaws. The leather strap is broken that connects the neck to the foot lock below that locks the jaws. T is one tooth missing on the locking bar. We believe the horse is also missing a spring between the jaws, but we are not sure. We are mentioning this for the sake of accuracy. The dimensions of the horse are 23" L x 43" T x 22" W. The seat is 24" H x 25" L x 11 ½" W. In order to ship the horse's jaws will have to be disassembled by unscrewing one side of the hinge and removing the pins that attach it to the seat. The horse will be shipped in a 30" x 30" x 30" box at 28 lbs. Primitive at it's best! Please see the other vintage items including leather- crafting tools we are offering in our other auctions. For some reason Ebay's software keeps putting that in the listing when I have checked "Required". I give up trying to fix it! Please disregard if not mentioned below... We prefer PayPal but we also accept money orders and cashier's checks (must clear prior to shipment). No ZERO or NEGATIVE bidders without contact with seller PRIOR to bidding. Unfortunate past experience has warranted that this become necessary. We WELCOME new bidders and we are honored to be a "first purchase". We just need to confirm who we are bidding with before a bid gets placed. It's a LONG story... We do NOT charge a handling or packing material fee on our auctions. Shipping is based on box size, weight and destination. We take great care in packaging items for shipment and use bubble-wrap and foam peanuts. Shipping will be by USPS Parcel Post insured UNLESS HIGH BIDDER STATES OTHERWISE. Other methods are offered. Insurance is REQUIRED on all items. Any buyer who declines insurance takes full responsibility for items damaged during shipping. Seller will NOT be held responsible for the item once it is shipped. We do OUR VERY BEST to package for a safe delivery. We use bubble-wrap, foam peanuts and at times, double boxing. Despite these efforts, on rare occasions, items may arrive damaged. Postage will require zip code for calculation of costs. Seller prefers Paypal but I do accept money orders and cashier's checks (must clear). No personal checks accepted unless agreed to by seller unless agreed to by seller PRIOR to bidding. Payments must be received within seven days of the close of the auction.
