As theprimitiveman, I sometimes have early wood still in its original paint. I enjoy using this wood to re-create antiques based on originals which are no longer attainable. Offered here is such a piece. This Primitive Mirror in Original Blue Paint being offered with No Reserve ! This is made after an original primitive we once owned. Also called a looking glass because in Colonial America, glass was very scarce and small pieces were made into a looking glass or courting mirror so a young woman could check her appearance before a suitor came to call. This framed mirror is made from Southern Heart Pine dating from the 1860's in its Original Blue Paint. The blue is a lighter blue. The mirror glass is very wavy and over 150 years old. The wood of backing is old as well and has circular saw marks. There is old wire on the back for hanging. The mirror measures 6 1/4" x 6 1/4" overall. The mirror glass measures 3 1/4" x 3 1/4". Be assured this piece was hand crafted by me and is 100% American made and 100% American materials . Please look at all the pics to see the beauty of this piece. Remember you are bidding on this Primitive Mirror made with wood in Original Blue Paint and glass from the 19th century with No Reserve!
