Primitive Punch Needle on Hornbook Listed for your consideration, is a prim punch needle on a hornbook. The design is my own and I punched it using 3 strands of my hand over-dyed floss throughout. There is a turkey on a pumpkin, surrounded by oak leaves and an acorn in front. Colorful pennies frame it in beautiful fall colors! I handcrafted the hornbook from a piece of reclaimed pine and painted it first in an antique black and added a topcoat of colonial brown. I ran a comb tool through the finish. The edges were distressed and a pair of faux rusted bells were tied on with jute twine to finish it off. The design measures 5 1/4" wide by 6" tall and the hornbook measures 6 1/2" wide by 9" tall and is 3/4" thick. This will come signed and dated on the back.
