Primitive Vintage Americana Folk Art Hand Carved Native American Wolf Creek Sgd I had the wonderful opportunity to meet and shop with another ebayer seller from out of town recently - a real catfish moment, because we’ve talked for years, but never met! No surprises, just all fun and did we shop until we dropped! I have lots of very cool items for you that I will be listing all week. Enjoy! This is one of my favorites this week. You know how much I love original folk art, and this piece will not disappoint. What I have is an original hand made piece that is marked on the bottom "Wolf Creek Eldora IA," on one foot, and has the signature of the artist on the other foot - but I cannot read it as the base of the foot is so dark. Wolf Creek was opened in 1978 by a man named Richard Sharp who began producting a line of wood toys. The facility was named after a creek that runs through his home town and he hired local retirees as his production workers. This wonderful piece is the image of a Native American. He's made out of solid wood, with hand carved and hand painted details. He has jointed arms that move up and down, and those appear to the the only attached pieces - the rest made from one solid piece of wood.
