Primitive Vintage Americana Folk Art Hand Carved Native American Wolf Creek Sgd

I had the wonderful opportunity to meet and shop with another ebayer seller from out of town recently - a real catfish moment, because we’ve talked for years, but never met! No surprises, just all fun and did we shop until we dropped! I have lots of very cool items for you that I will be listing all week. Enjoy!

This is one of my favorites this week. You know how much I love original folk art, and this piece will not disappoint. What I have is an original hand made piece that is marked on the bottom "Wolf Creek Eldora IA," on one foot, and has the signature of the artist on the other foot - but I cannot read it as the base of the foot is so dark. Wolf Creek was opened in 1978 by a man named Richard Sharp who began producting a line of wood toys. The facility was named after a creek that runs through his home town and he hired local retirees as his production workers. This wonderful piece is the image of a Native American. He's made out of solid wood, with hand carved and hand painted details. He has jointed arms that move up and down, and those appear to the the only attached pieces - the rest made from one solid piece of wood. The hand painted details are simple, muted but striking - earth tone colors leading the way. He measures 10 3/4" tall, is 3 1/2" widest and 2 1/2" deepest. He weighs 3/4 lbs and is in excellent solid and sturdy condition. There's minor wear to his finish and he could use a little dust off, but that's it - this is a naturally rustic piece. If you look at my close up in photo 10, you'll see the inside back of his head dress. Now, it appears as if there may have been something back there, and it's broken off (???) but I am not sure, I can't imagine what it would have been as he appears to be missing nothing, and you definitely don't notice it unless you are looking straight down from the top of him - it's not something you see from the front. It might not be anything missing, it might just be from the way he was made, but I am not sure, so I wanted you to know. My photos do not do justice to this piece - it is absolutely one of my favorited primitive Americana pieces that I have sold - from the heartland to you! Please ask if you have any questions, or feel free to inform me if you have any information about one of my listings. As with any of my items, if you ever need extra pictures, let me know, just make sure that you give me an email address to send them to. Pick up is welcome on all of my items. I’m happy to combine shipments for you, but I do ask that there be no more than 7 days from the purchase of the first item - I will invoice after 7 days, as I cannot hold the items longer than that. Also, many of my items come from local rural estate sales and auctions. They are coming right from the barn or attic to you, dust, cobwebs and all! I do not clean and polish before I sell - they are in the condition found, as you see in my photos - and I leave the patina exactly as it was when I bought the item. I do my best to photo and describe thoroughly. Please email me before bidding if you do not use Paypal, and we can discuss possible alternatives. Payment is due within 7 business days after close of auction, after that, the sale will be void, and I will relist the item. I only mail via USPS. I have had some trouble with the Ebay shipping calculator giving people bombastic shipping rates (especially after purchase with the Ebay “Pay Now“ invoice on Parcel/Standard Select rates). So, if you think it’s too high, email me so that I can check it out, before you pay me. That being said, we pack very well, so that will add to the weight, combined with the constantly increasing shipping charges of the Post Office. I ship within one business day of receipt of your payment, unless there’s a holiday that closes the post office, or I notify you otherwise. With postage rates going up and up, I am shipping more items Parcel/Standard Select. Please realize that this can mean a 2-3 week delivery, sometimes longer. As a ma...
