Primitive Winter/Holiday Star Door Greeter with Snowman

Welcome to my auction and thank you for taking a peek! This listing is for a sweet primitive snowman star door greeter that has been hand made by me! The door greeter would look wonderful hanging inside on a cupboard door or can be hung on your covered front porch. The star can also be tucked inside of a prim cupboard.....as it shows in the pictures. The snowman star door greeter would make a great decoration for all Winter long! The star is made out of a wonderful striped ticking fabric. It has cranberry, very dark green and cream stripes. The star measures about 15" across at the widest part and about 13" long, not including the hanger. It has been stuffed very firmly and can easily be hung by the grosgrain ribbon hanger which is sewn into the seams of the star. The snowman face was created using old vintage cutter quilt pieces. The face has some wonderful hand quilting lines as does the hat. The face, hat and his nose have all been hand stitched to the star. I used black cross-stitches for his mouth. When the sewing was completed on the star, I sponged it with a coffee/vanilla mixture and it has dried to a wonderful primitive appearance. I then used linen thread to attach rusty stars to the snowman's face for eyes and added just a hint of blush to his cheeks. Finally, I pinned a prim tag to the star......it has the picture of a snowman at the bottom and I stamped the words "PRIMITIVE WINTER WISHES" on the tag. Please email me with any questions. Since this item would be considered oversized for US Post Office priority mail, I have included the rate for UPS in the shipping calculator.
