Up for bid is a PRIMO Zig Zag Concertina Mechanical Corkscrew, M.I. France: I am not an expert in this field so please feel free to ask any questions if my terminology is unclear or incorrect. Based on my research this was the best description that I could come up with to describe the mechanism on this corkscrew. I obtained this great piece at the Tongeren Antique Market in Belgium while living in Holland and it has opened many bottles of great wine. My collection has gotten a little too large so time to sell some of my doubles. This is an awesome corkscrew. Impress your friends and family when you pull this great corkscrew out to open the bottle of wine at the next dinner event. People are always amazed by how simple and effective it is. Looks to me like the handle is either nickle or chrome plated and the main mechanical section is stainless steel. The overall condition is excellent+ with very minor signs of wear (see pics). NOTE: Due to the reflection of the metal and/or the monitor that these pictures are viewed on this corkscrew may appear somewhat "goldish" in appearance. As noted, the handle is either chrome or nickle plated and the scissor mechanism appears to be stainless steel so the entire piece is "silverish" in color. Referred to as a Concertina, compound lever, lazy tong, or the well known name "ZIG ZAG" it has the scissors-type center piece to pull out the cork. Made in France, the worm is in great condition and it is sharp. The moving parts move freely and smoothly. The handle is cast with "Zig Zag" on each side and "Bte SGDG Fr. & Et. M&M DEP" at the base of the handle. I have also been told that the square notch opposite that maker mark is meant to remove bottle caps. Please check out pics for detail. You would be hard pressed to find another example of this item in such superior condition that is not NOS. Item measures 6" compressed and 10.5" extended and and weighs 6.8 oz. Please check out my current listings for corkscrews.
