This is a rare book being offered with no reserve, at a very low starting price, and with free priority shipping. I believe this is the deluxe run within the second state, with the corrected text on pages 124 and 263, of the First American Edition of the Mark Twain classic, The Prince and the Pauper (411 numbered pages), as published by James R. Osgood in 1882.The cover, three-quarter leather with marbled boards, is scuffed, with surface cracking at the hinge, and with the title paste-ons missing from the spine, which has five raised bands. The gilt work is faded, but visible. T's play in the attachment to the spine, but it is not separated. The marbled boards, though scuffed, are only slightly faded. The leather covers are solidly attached to the bumped outside corners (see photo).The inside cover spreads mirror the marbled outside boards. The front end page is loose, but present. Both inside cover gutters are cracked, as can be seen in the photo below.The first two printed pages are a facsimile latter of Hugh Latimer to Lord Cromwell, and a printed version of that letter.Several pages have shallow corner chips, and some have minor creases, but most do not. T are recurrent light stains, but most pages are clean. The binding is not tight, but, excepting the front end page, t are no loose or missing pages. T are no stamps. The only
