I have been a Socony (Mobil) collector for several years. I am selling some of my duplicates. For auction is a pristine Socony License plate topper from the 1939 California world's Fair. I had collected a total of four of these. One stays in my collection, one was sold last month, and the other two are now listed. This is one of the better examples of this topper. It has a slight scratch on the horses body. With this topper you get a framed copy of a 1939 ad from the American Weekly stating that customers could get their license plate emblem free at their local Mobilgas dealer. This is the only ad for the Socony toppers that I have ever seen. You also get a copy of my booklet that describes and pictures 21 different original styles and 12 reproductions of the Socony toppers. In the past month I have seen two reproductions sold as originals in ebay auctions. If you are a collector you need to be able to differentiate the originals from the reproductions. This was the reason for this booklet. Shipping is $12.00 (lower 48) which includes insurance. Shipping charges adjusted for international shipping.
