this is one of the most impressive pieces of elegant glass in moonlight blue by cambridge u will ever see.." the samovar could be either cambridge or paden city.. the only way to tell for sure is to study the etching patterns..the moulds were owned by century silver company and they were the ones who made the metal frames..they moved the moulds back and forth between the two companies, dependent on what they wanted to make and who could make it during the time period it was needed." this is from david petersen on extensive research into his vaseline samovar.. he wrote the book on vaseline..this piece loooks like it was made yesterday.. it is asolutely pristine, with no wear to the plate, no chips, cracks, stains, etc,, the lady that we bought it from said it had been her family since she could remember and she had bever used it and she had it for almost 40 years...i have talked to an expert on paden city and cambridge and she had never heard of this samovar blank in moonlight blue by cambridge...i seldom, almost never, say one of a kind, but this truly could be.. the original protected by invicta labels on every piece.. samovar is signed century silver pat appl for.. the 4 glasses are all moonlight blue and all have the invicta labels, but a simple floral cambridge etching, they look right, buit i am not sure these went with this. read more
