On Offer, a Hard to Find ASCO Ltd Meat Slicer, Style No G2, Serial No 5987. In working order & currently in use. I have been researching this item for many weeks and to date I have not yet come across another Meat slicer made by ASCO Ltd? I have managed to find out a little bit of information about the company who seem to have specialised in commercial weighing scales. I can not date this machine however I found an article from 'The London Gazette' dated April 20th 1962 where an announcement that ASCO Ltd would be wound up and go into liquidation. ASCO is short for 'Automatic Scale Company' and were located in Broadheath, Manchester. The slicer is in good working order with only a couple of small issues. These are seen in the photos and are as follows. 1). A small area of enamel has worn away (see photos 3, 4 & 6). 2). The acrylic guard was broken last year (see photos 3 & 4). This part does not cause any safety issue but aesthetically would be best if replaced or removed? Sharpening tool is built into the machine. Power is 240v UK voltage with a standard 3 pin fused plug attached. Dimensions are as follows:Length = 68cm Depth = 50cm Height = 57cmWeight (estimated) = 31kg? Overall this is a beautiful piece of Kitchenalia of days gone by, still working and still cutting as it was originally intended to do. It would look read more
