Antique Easton, Pennsylvania Pharmacy PROHIBITION Whiskey Prescription, Medical Alcohol .... (More Pics Below).. Up for auction is an authentic Original National Prohibition Whiskey Prescription Form. This form was retained by the Druggist as a permanent record and open to inspection by Federal Officers...This was printed by Treasury Department U.S. Internal Revenue and is a Prescription Blank by the National Prohibiton Act as printed at bottom of Rx... When you hold this up to the light (pic #3) you can see "PROHIBITION" printed, watermarked in the paper, and the Treasury Seal in Latin in the center, and poppys on the corners, and the punched "Void" to show it was filled... .... The Medicine prescription is written for 16 oz. of SPTS. FRUMENTI, which is the latin term for WHISKEY, and directions are AS DIRECTED. ... This was a way of getting whiskey, liquor, during the prohibition days by having your Doctor prescribe it for medicinal purposes.. The Rx was prescribed on September 6, 1926 and it's written for or looks like J. Roberts ??, 106 9 th St, Easton, PA.... It was filled by Druggist Alvin Kern of Kern's Pharmacy, 715 Northampton St., in Easton, PA... The Rx measures 6 1/2" x 6"....It's in good shape for its' age, just some crease marks..
