Offered at auction is a factory new HO Life-Like Proto 2000 E6A locomotive in the two-tone blue and gold diesel livery of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad. In January 2004, Trains Magazine identified the EMD E6 as the most underrated passenger locomotive, and it generally praised the long-nosed early E-Series locos saying they just “looked fast.” In the early diesel era, prototype E6s delivered 2000 horsepower and saw widespread passenger service throughout the US . This model features P2Ks low amperage 5-pole skewed armature motor which operates quietly and efficiently at all speeds. It runs on standard DC but it is also plug-and-play DCC ready. The drive train has been test run only and is in excellent operating condition. The engine cowling is also in superb condition with no missing parts or blemishes. Some detail parts are yet to be applied. The locomotive comes with all paperwork and the original box, which is in similarly excellent condition. Proto 2000 stock number 23184, B&O locomotive #61, now out of production. Sold as is but all questions are welcome. General Notes & Terms: About shipping: I generally prefer to ship via USPS Priority mail but small items weighing fewer than 13 ounces can usually ship quite safely via First Class mail for appreciably less, and the delivery time often rivals that of Priority Mail.
