PRR Pullman Wake Island Original Photo Rare Album An original from the negative 8" by 10" glossy finish photo print showing the Pullman car Wake Island lettered for PULLMAN but in PRR Fleet of Modernism paint. Originally delivered as the Jack's Narrows in 1938 for use on The Spirit of St. Louis the car was renamed in 1942 to honor the fallen of the Battle of Wake Island. While not marked as such this is clearly a print from an original Pullman Company negative. I am told that photos of this car carrying the name Wake Island are extremely rare and that this may indeed be the only viewknown to be in existence. An extra print that was from the files of the famous Arthur D. Dubin. A nice item for any PRR or Pullman Company collector. Very good or better condition. PLEASE NOTE : "dlw58" is on the auction image only, not on the print itself! We are selling these photo prints for a friend who is thinning out his collection, we will not have any other copies of this image for sale!
