WWI M1889 Prussian WK&C Infantry Officer's Sword with Scabbard. The brass hilt with Prussian crest on the guard, the grip with original sharkskin and wire wrap. Double folding guard. Straight, single-edged, double-fullered blade, which is in excellent condition with no scratches or evidence of being sharpened. Stamped "W.K & C" (Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co), Kings head stamp and a Knight head stamp on the Ricasso. Leather Index finger loop is present and intact. Leather Washer is present. Scabbard has a single carrying ring and loop. It also has been painted black, a long time ago... as was often customary to help conceal one's position without having the sun-glare reflection from a shiny-metal Scabbard. Late 1800's to early 1900's. Light wear to sharkskin, wire wrap a little loose. Blade measures 33", overall length in scabbard is 40 1/4". Beautiful Piece! Check out my other items !
