PS vintage 1970's old pour .999 fine pure silver bar. Stunning and magnificent - a massive 25.46 troy ounce block!! Although well known to collectors, PS or "Placer Sierra?" is one of many old California producers with a history and identity that is shrouded in the past. The PS bars were hand poured and made with two distinct styles of hand stampings. We are guessing that the older type are from the mid 1970's. They have a rather small "PS" hallmark with the weight, ".999 FINE SILVER" and "TROY OZ" also in small characters. The newer appearing bars are possibly late 1970's or early 1980's and have very large letters and numerals with the "PS" covering the entire left side of the bar. This amazing example is of the older, small hallmark style. It is an impressive and well constructed bar. Surfaces are fully original and highly lusterous with beautiful light gold toning! The stampings are nice and bold. High quality vintage hand-made ingots are always highly prized by collectors. Pieces like this one are quite rare and becoming more difficult to obtain with each passing day! This is, in fact, the last of the PS bars that I have to sell - there will be no more.
