OK YOU HAPPY HARDCORES!!! You asked for the REALLY "HARD CORE" items... YOU SAID : "Stop holding out on us! We want the stuff you ONLY sell to collectors, the items you speak about in whispers!" Be careful what you ask for...because you are about to GET IT! What you are buying: This is a part of my most serious collection of psychiatric and insane asylum items. The ones they used on the "heavy hitters" the real "problem children" of the institution. IF you are a collector then this is your chance. The bidding ends before Halloween...or "Buy it Now" and we can overnight it to you for an additional fee. This chest pad/body restraint was used to hold a very "orally inclined" patient. As you can see they spent some time chewing and tearing at the thick leather with their teeth. Struggling against their restraints for what must have seemed like an eternity. Using their only available tool to free themselves. Do you have ANY IDEA how hard it is for a human being to chew through Latigo leather? I've never seen it done to this extent. This chest pad looks like it was attacked by a land shark! Now it can be yours. This can be paired with other items we have from that facility INCLUDING out extension belts and other cuff systems. Some of these pieces require a little imagination but if you are buying it I imagine that won't be a problem for you, and please play safe or costume responsibly. As I understand it these are made to secure someone to a bed, mattress, futon, patio furniture, bed of a truck, or hood of an SUV. You do what you think is right...we aren't here to judge. Feel free to mix and match, I have it on VERY GOOD AUTHORITY that the orderlies did! These were designed to hold people that have NO GRASP on this reality so they are the real deal!!!! I know there are a lot of adult toy makers that sell here and some have nice items. BUT THESE ARE A WHOLE DIFFERENT THING INDEED! These aren't toys...they are the real McCoy. They are made of saddle leather (latigo) and are quite thick. I don't think anyone has anything like this though...and CERTAINLY nothing with the same history. Why we have this for sale: One of our sidelines is movie props and we rent out this sort of thing for the "B" movie zombie films that are currently being shot in the Pacific North West. Because of this we get the inside scoop when the state hospitals and prisons are turning over inventory and upgrading. This is the first time in 20 years that the restraints were released to qualified buyers. But they always have more then we can use for the movie business. The "Provenance" of these items: These pieces came from the Oregon State Hospital and were used on real psych ward patients and the criminally insane. They have 4 wards that utilize these items. Two are for patients that are not adjusting well or being combative. The other 2 are for "Hyper-sexual" patients that have to be restrained almost continuously. These people tend to be the ones that chew on things since they have no other outlet. Its an odd twist on "tease and denial" For those unfamiliar with that facility it was the place the movie "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" was filmed at AND the setting for the book the movie was based on by Ken Kesey.
