Offered here is a vintage original 11x14 in. U.S. lobby card from the early 1930s law-themed crime/mystery drama THE PUBLIC DEFENDER , released in 1931 by RKO Radio Pictures and directed by J. Walter Ruben. Rich playboy Pike Winslow (Richard Dix) dons the mantle of 'The Reckoner', a mysterious avenger, when he learns that his the father of his lady friend, Barbara Gerry (Shirley Grey), has been framed in a bank embezzlement scandal. Using meticulous planning and split-second timing, Pike, along with his associates, the erudite "Professor" (Boris Karloff) and tough-guy scrapper "Doc" (Paul Hurst), attempt to find proof that will clear Gerry and identify the real culprits.The image features a close shot of Pike Winslow ( Richard Dix ), seated as his desk with blueprints in front of him, as he synchronizes his watch with his two associates, Doc ( Paul Hurst , left) and the Professor ( Boris Karloff ) This vintage original lobby card is in very fine condition with only two pinholes in the background area to the left of Richard Dix's face, one pinhole in the center of the top and bottom borders and random light signs of soling with primarily the left and bottom border.
