This massive mountain man or frontier bladesmith Bowie knife comes from the forge of custom knifemaker Morris Pulliam.The awesome high carbon blade is 5/16" thick, 12" in length and 2" wide with a mirror polished finish stamped "M. PULLIAM" and "84" which gives us the year it was made. A very artistic wrought iron double crossguard with forward sloping quillons with two decorative perforations and a "V" cut at the tip. The guard is given a rough hammered antique patina finish. The handle is a really special section of dark crown stag and in the crown a bronze Buffalo head has been mounted. This big Bowie is 17-1/2" in length and is in excellent condition save the usual few tiny spots of tarnish that carbon steel is prone to. Includes the original leather belt sheath.
