Description Very Early silver Medallion motif Spoon marked Pure Coin, possibly early Gorham or Wood & Hughes (not sure) Gorham, prior to 1848, marked many of their pieces "pure coin" and did not adopt the sterling standard until the late c1860s Estimated age is c 1840-1860 Period script monogram on reverse of spoon handle Sturdy weight, exceptionally well designed A well developed patina that advanced collectors enjoy finding well cared for, gently hand-polished sterling pieces exceeding 100+ years of age Remarkably perfect, undiminished, crisp detail (fantastic quality) Excellent, original condition with no repairs or damage Medium tarnishQuality lives when price is forgotton. We normally ship once a week (typically on Thursdays) via Priority Mail. Shipments are carefully packed and are insured for domestic shipments and air parcel post overseas. Shipping Insurance: In the event of a lost or damaged shipment, the processing of an Insurance Claim will be the responsibility of the Buyer. Upon request, we shall provide original insurance documentation and tracking information in a timely manner. Please be advised that insurance value limits may be imposed.
