Profusely illustrated in color and black and white drawings, plus photographs and maps. The philatelist, particularly the aero-philatelist, should welcome Crome's work, which tells of the beginnings and progress of Australian air mail services. Chapters include: The Beginning of Commericial Avaiation, Internal Services 1922-34, Australia-England Experimental Services 1931, Australia-England Regular Sercies 1934 Onwards, Flying-Boat Service 1938-9, The Horseshoe Route, Trans-Tasman Service, Papua and New Guinea, The Indian Ocean Emergency Route, Mornington Island Parachute Mails, Australia-England Post War Services, Australia-South Africa via Cocos, and Trans-Pacific Services.
