Chinese Embroidered Manchu Wedding Skirt Apron
This antique Chinese Manchu wedding skirt apron dates from the Qing Dynasty. It is made of a golden yellow kesi "cut silk" summer weave light weight fabric. T are two matching apron panels which are heavily embroidered with colorful silk threads done in a floral butterfly design. T is black and blue silk embroidered trim borders edging the skirt. The sides of the skirt are pleated with floral embroidery work hidden inside the folds, and trim along the outside. T is a wide linen waistband sewn along the top which fastens together with linen knotted buttons and loop style toggles. This fabulous early wrap around skirt is all hand embroidered and hand stitched. The skirt measures 44 inches long and is 60 inches wide. It is in excellent clean wearable condition with only a small black ink mark on the linen waistband. This is a great piece of unique one of a kind wearable art! I will be out of town from May 2-12 and will be checking my email periodically. I do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Thank you for your consideration. Buyer pays $12.00 shipping and insurance for USA orders only. ©1999-2007 1860-1960 web design by
