ANTIQUE CHINESE QING DYNASTY DAOGUANG PORCELAIN FAMILLE ROSE CELADON GROUND EXPORT BOWL/DISH c. 1821-1850 and measurements are 8" in dia. 1 7/8" tall and 5" at foot. It is a hand painted Daoguang reign bowl with VERY colorful butterfly, insect's, pheasant and floral design through out. At some point it had gold gilt along the rim/lip but most has worn off. There is some wear to the design but not much and as you can see from the photos it's stunning and display's very well. There are a few hard to see marks in one place on outside near rim (see photo12) And there a few rust spots from iron in clay which works it's way to the surface over time and can also be black when small, a couple g laze contractions and a few tiny imperfections as are commonly found on earlier examples from impurities in the kiln. There are no chips or cracks and for it's age this a beautiful dish in very good condition. It is from my own collection! SOLD AS IS!
We will be offering many more antique Chinese blue & white porcelain plate's/dish's and bowl's in the coming week's some are from the Ming period or earlier. Please check my other Chinese item's. PLEASE READ BELOW BEFORE BIDDING: When we list an antique item for auction it is at least 100years old some are much older and some are rare to very rare. Many may have none, a few or a lot of manufacturing defects and must were used by their owner's 100years ago or more until who knows when or how many owners. Some maybe part of a ship wreck cargo. Of course these owners had no idea the screen, chest, dish, bowl, vase, etc.... would someday be of value to collector's around the world and most show signs of wear from use and age. We do our best to give you a detailed description of an item if it has chips, cracks, etc., etc.... we list them. We will always give the buyer the benefit of any research we have on items and sometimes we spend hours in book's or on the Internet researching items and adding to our knowledge. If we state a Dynasty, period, c. date, etc. made it is our opinion and to the best of our knowledge and research as to when and where it was made and research by it's nature is never done or perfect and we are always learning. If your have knowledge, research or an expert opinion as to when and where an item we have listed was made please enlighten us so we can better serve you and others we very much welcome your kind thoughtful input. OUR GUARANTEE : We guarantee if we give you a c. date, time period or dynasty, etc........ an item was manufactured it is at least that old and may be much older. If you obtain an "EXPERT" opinion that an item we have sold you is not the c.date, time period or dynasty stated by us in our listing just contact us and we will give you a full refund. PORCELAIN: In the case of Chinese and Japanese porcelain's, earthen ware, etc.......... these antique item's were made with primitive technology by today standards and it is amazing how beautifully made and refined they are and what great condition many are in. In the beginning Items made for the nobility were of high quality and more refined then the item's made for export and the common people but with time and demand for better quality for export markets in Europe and other part's of the world the better kiln's produced more refined items both in quality, design and beauty. Still many have manufacturing flaws like material in bedded in the glaze or sand in bedded on the foot from impurities in the kiln. Most if not all these item were hand trimmed and it is easy to mistake a bad trim job (a flaw) for a chip on the rim or foot and in the case of the rim and sometimes on the foot it will be covered with glaze. We always list any chips, cracks we can see, etc.... We give you as many close up detailed photo's as we can so you are able to view the condition of an item before bidding. The manufacturing defects are another way to help arrive at a time period an item was manufactured as well as any seal or signature...
