Hello T!This quart Millville is very nice. I acquired it from an estate in Bath, Ny. When the guy brought a box with 6 in them, I think I swooned : ). I only bought 2. It is jar #2181 in the Red Book #9 and lists at $40-60. It was made by the Whitall, Tatum & Company of Millville, N.J., who were the proprietors of the Pheonix Glass Works Company. I mention this as I have a Pheniox glass shade listing. The front reads; MILLVILLE ATMOSPHERIC FRUIT JAR obverse: WHITALL'S PATENT JUNE 18TH 1861, the lid reads WHITALL'S PATENT JUNE 18TH 1861. The clamp is orginal as is the ring (seal). The clamp has a moderated amount of rust and the screw turns well. I have seen other Millville jars listed as "complete" with no ring seal. This auction includes the original ring seal. The jar is COMPLETE: jar, clamp, glass lid, and ring seal. Ready for your favorite display nook, or favorite preserves! All embossing is clear and sharp. The entire jar has an "orange peel" texture to it. The applied lip has some real primative slop over of glass on the inside neck (see lip picture), so typical of these early jars. One bubble burst at the bottom inside I feel with end of a spoon. The color on this aqua jar has a lot of blue. A variety of bubbles are present. Everything on this jar says VERY NICE! No chips dings or cracks. If you are interested, I am listing read more
