A superb antique natural shell cameo; beautifully hand carved to depict two classical gods/goddesses - possibly Athena (Minerva) and Artemis (Diana), or maybe Alexander and Roxana?, with a genius of light, in a lovely quality solid 9 carat gold (tests tabouts) ornate mount for wear as a pin. A high quality, distinctive and fabulously collectable cameo pin - not to mention wearable! CONDITION : All original and very good. Slightest signs of wear, no loss or damage. DEFECTS : None. DATE/MARKS : Around 1860/70. Not marked. DIMENSIONS : 57 x 49 mm (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or � of an inch diameter.
