I JUST FOUND THIS UNIQUE AND DIFFERENT VINTAGE ANTIQUE CARVED MAPLE? WOOD HAND AT AN ESTATE SALE THIS WEEKEND,THE WORKMANSHIP IS SUPERB,THE DETAIL IS WONDERFUL,EVEN THE FINGERNAILS ARE CARVED.THE WRIST IS FULLY JOINTED AND WILL MOVE SIDE TO SIDE OR BACK AND FORTH AND ROTATE TOO!,THE JOINTS ARE SLOTTED AND HAVE ROUND BALLS OF MAPLE? AND WORK WELL,YOU CAN POSE IT HOWEVER YOU WANT TO BY JUST BENDING THE FINGERS AND THUMB.IT IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION BUT SHOWS LIGHT WEAR,PAINT LOSS AND PATINA FROM THE LAST 50,60 OR HOW MANY YEARS IT IS OLD,I WOULD GUESS 1940'S OR EARLY 1950'S ,TODAY IT WOULD COST WAY TO MUCH TO MAKE,THATS WHY WE HAVE CHINESE JUNK NOW,THIS WAS MADE WHEN AMERICA WAS STILL MAKING ITS OWN HIGH QUALITY PRODUCTS AND PRIDE WAS INVOLVED WITH THE CONSTRUCTION.THIS IS LIFESIZE AND HEAVY FOR ITS SIZE,IT IS 10" LONG AT ITS LONGEST UNFOLDED POSITION,ITS A VERY HARD WOOD MATERIAL,I AM PRETTY SURE IT IS HARD ROCK MAPLE,THE WEIGHT IS ALMOST A FULL POUND.THE BASE PLATE [LIGHT SURFACE RUST] IS STEEL WITH A SMALL TWIST PIN TO HOLD IT ON TO THE ARM OR DISPLAY BASE.IT IS IN ORIGINAL AS FOUND CONDITION.OVERALL A KILLER VINTAGE DISPLAY PIECE,VERY UNIQUE APPEARING AND ITS FUN TO PLAY WITH.THANKS,AND WHILE PLEASE LOOK AROUND AS YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU MIGHT FIND.
