This is a wonderful very large mug produced by Wedgwood, England in 1953 to commemorate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. The rare large creamware mug was designed by Richard Guyatt and measures 4.25 inches high by 4 in diameter. The mug has a fabulous stylized design of the unicorn and lion of the Queen's shield done in leaves, the date in flowers with gold trim. This design of royal commemorative mugs for the coronation are very hard to find and sought after by royal memorabilia collectors. The prize piece of an English royal commemorative estate collection we acquired lately. Neat!
